E96
Intex PureSpa E96: system error
E96 means a system error. This wording is from Intex manual 347IO, printed 16 May 2024, for PureSpa SB-H20 at 220-240 V, 50 Hz. The parts table lists 28426, 28430 and 28476 for 4 adults (795 L) and 28428 and 28432 for 6 adults (1098 L). This edition does not tell you to take the control unit apart.

Do this first
-
Power
Turn it off and unplug it
Turn the control unit off and unplug it. Leave the housing closed. Do not unscrew the inlet or the outlet to bleed air. That step is not in this chart.
-
Reset
Plug the RCD back in and start again
Plug the RCD back in and start the spa again. Page 9 says this product draws a minimum of 13 A and says never use an extension cord. Unfold the line cord. Do not put the plug on combustible material.
When to call a technician
Call a technician now if
- The breaker or the RCD trips when the pump is plugged in.
- You smell burning, see melted plastic, or the water is too hot to touch.
- The code comes back after one reset.
Also call for these, from the manual
- Contact an Intex service centre if E96 returns after that restart. Do not open the housing and do not work on the wiring.
Questions
A forum says to unscrew the B and C connectors for E96. Is that in this manual?
No. Manual 347IO, page 16, says turn the control unit off, unplug it, plug the RCD back in, and start again. It does not say to unscrew connectors or to drain the control unit. An older 110-120 V manual has a different E96 line. Do not mix them.
