Intex PureSpa E95: water is too hot

E95 means the water temperature is too high. This wording is from Intex manual 347IO, printed 16 May 2024, for PureSpa SB-H20 at 220-240 V, 50 Hz. The parts table lists 28426, 28430 and 28476 for 4 adults (795 L) and 28428 and 28432 for 6 adults (1098 L). Page 15 says never use the spa if the indicated water temperature is more than 40°C (104°F).

Water temperature too high

Models this page covers: 28426, 28430, 28476, 28428, 28432

Do this first

  1. Power

Unplug and let the water cool

Turn the control unit off and unplug it. When the water has cooled, plug the RCD back in and start again. Do not use the spa while the display shows more than 40°C (104°F). Do not open the housing.

  1. Settings

Heater off, then filter and bubbles

Turn the heater off. Then press the filter button and the bubble button so the water temperature can fall. The chart names those two buttons. It does not say to open the heater.

When to call a technician

Call a technician now if

  • The breaker or the RCD trips when the pump is plugged in.
  • You smell burning, see melted plastic, or the water is too hot to touch.
  • The code comes back after one reset.

Also call for these, from the manual

  • Contact an Intex service centre if E95 remains after the water has cooled and you have run the filter and the bubbles with the heater off.

Questions

The Dutch chart does not say to plug the RCD back in. Which line do I follow?

The English chart on page 16 says: when the water has cooled, plug the RCD and restart. The Dutch edition of the same manual says start the spa again once the water has cooled. Both then say to turn the heater off and press filter and bubbles. Plugging the RCD cord back into the wall socket is the English line. Page 9 says never use an extension cord.
