Intex PureSpa E97: dry-fire protection

E97 means dry-fire protection. This wording is from Intex manual 347IO, printed 16 May 2024, for PureSpa SB-H20 at 220-240 V, 50 Hz. The parts table lists 28426, 28430 and 28476 for 4 adults (795 L) and 28428 and 28432 for 6 adults (1098 L). The only solution on the chart is Intex service.

Dry-fire Protection

Models this page covers: 28426, 28430, 28476, 28428, 28432

Do this first

  1. Power

Unplug and leave the housing closed

Unplug the spa and leave it unplugged. The chart's only line is to contact an Intex service centre. It does not give a reset, a filter step, or a way to open the heater.

When to call a technician

Call a technician now if

  • The breaker or the RCD trips when the pump is plugged in.
  • You smell burning, see melted plastic, or the water is too hot to touch.
  • The code comes back after one reset.

Also call for these, from the manual

  • Contact an Intex service centre while the spa stays unplugged. Dry-fire protection is the heater. Do not open the housing and do not keep heating.

Questions

Should I top the water up and clear E97 myself?

The chart does not say that. Page 16 prints one solution for dry-fire protection: contact an Intex service centre. Filling, resetting, or opening the heater is not printed for E97.
