Intex PureSpa E99: temperature sensor broken

E99 means the water temperature sensor is broken. This wording is from Intex manual 347IO, printed 16 May 2024, for PureSpa SB-H20 at 220-240 V, 50 Hz. The parts table lists 28426, 28430 and 28476 for 4 adults (795 L) and 28428 and 28432 for 6 adults (1098 L). The chart gives no home test for this sensor.

Water temperature sensor broken

Models this page covers: 28426, 28430, 28476, 28428, 28432

Do this first

  1. Power

Unplug and do not open the sensor

Unplug the spa. The only line on the chart is to contact an Intex service centre. Do not open the housing and do not unplug a sensor lead yourself.

When to call a technician

Call a technician now if

  • The breaker or the RCD trips when the pump is plugged in.
  • You smell burning, see melted plastic, or the water is too hot to touch.
  • The code comes back after one reset.

Also call for these, from the manual

  • Contact an Intex service centre while the spa stays unplugged. A broken temperature sensor is not a filter job and not a setting.

Questions

E94 is also about temperature. Is the sensor already broken?

No. In this chart E94 means the water is too cold, and the steps are warm water and the heat button. E99 means the sensor itself is broken, and the only printed step is Intex service.
