Balboa M021: settings were reset
M021 means the settings have been reset. The guide names this a persistent memory error and says to contact your dealer or service organization if it appears on more than one power-up. This wording is from Balboa guide 40985-G, 26 March 2014, for BP2500 and BP2600 with a TP800 or TP900 panel.

Clear it once from the panel
The asterisk means the message can be reset from the panel. A resettable message shows a right arrow. Navigate to it and press Select. Do not open the pack.

Display
Call if the next power-up shows it again
The guide draws the line at more than one power-up. If M021 is there again after the next power-up, stop resetting it and contact the dealer.
When to call a technician
Call a technician now if
- The breaker or the RCD trips when the pump is plugged in.
- You smell burning, see melted plastic, or the water is too hot to touch.
- The code comes back after one reset.
Also call for these, from the manual
- Contact your dealer or service organization when M021 appears on more than one power-up. Do not open the control pack.
Questions
Did one power cut cause M021?
