E01
Lay-Z-Spa E01: flow sensors trip on their own
E01 means the water-flow sensors work without you pressing the filter or heat button. This wording is from the 2025 AirJet manual 303021379874 and the 2025 HydroJet manual 303021371869, for pump models S100202, S200202, S300202 and S400202. Spa names such as Paris or Miami are not in these manuals. A 2020 edition states the cold and hot alarms differently, so do not use this page for that edition.

Do this first
-
Power
Unplug, tap once, plug back in
Unplug the pump. The manual says to tap the side of the pump lightly, not hard, then plug it back in, so the sensor flags can drop. Do not open the housing.

Display
Stop if E01 is still there
If E01 remains, the manual says the water-flow sensors are broken and sends you to Bestway support. Leave the pump unplugged.
When to call a technician
Call a technician now if
- The breaker or the RCD trips when the pump is plugged in.
- You smell burning, see melted plastic, or the water is too hot to touch.
- The code comes back after one reset.
Also call for these, from the manual
- Contact Bestway if E01 remains after one light tap and a restart. The manual gives no home repair for a broken flow sensor, and the warranty section says opening the pump is not covered.
Questions
Is E01 the same fault as E02?
No. In these 2025 manuals, E01 is the flow sensors working when filter and heat are off. E02 is the sensors not seeing enough water while filtering or heating is running.
